Around an hour drive from Tacloban City is a newly opened farm resort located in Villa Magsaysay, Babatngon Leyte called Balay Ni Tatay. The resort name is a generic waray-waray term which
means house of father. I forgot to ask the waiter why it's named as such but I think there's a deep meaning to it. Anyway, I was amazed with the landscape and how it feels so homey and relaxing. It is perfect for a wedding reception, birthday parties or company events! Or maybe a marriage proposal with all the candles and rose petals in that round park beside the restaurant? OMG that would be so sweeeeet. ๐
How to get there
Use a private vehicle and google map it. Make sure to ask locals while on your way because the direction is a bit sketchy. There's a small signage from the main road but you may miss to see it. You can also call them for directions as well.Accomodation
Overnight stay using a tent is possible for company events. Call them for more information.

My Review
I would rate this place 6.5/10. The place is really relaxing and instagram-worthy but I don't think 50 pesos entrance fee per head should be charged for those who will be ordering food from their restaurant. The fact that it's an hour drive from Tacloban City and some part of the road is not yet concrete, is a bit of a hassle for the visitors already. It would be better if they make that 50 pesos consumable. The food is just so-so but I like the fact that they offer organic food/drinks and blue rice. Also, when we had our lunch there, it was hot because there was no ceiling fan above our table. It's an open area but at that time, the weather was humid and there was no wind coming in. There were a lot of mosquitoes, we had to constantly fan them away from our food. The staff were nice and friendly. Anyway, it is just their soft opening so I believe there would be changes and improvements soon.I'm still curious as to why they came up with its name so if you know it, please comment down below!
